Yes this is a phrase used often at my house whenever something great happens…and something(s) great has happened! It’s not too often when I just feel so freaking content with how life is treating us, and even though I proudly shout from the rafters the awesomeness, I still secretly (or not so secretly) hold my breath and hope not to temp the fates at the same time. So what’s going on you ask??
I found out today that I have been promoted!!! YESSSSSSSSS!! I feel like this has been talked about for a while, and FINALLY things have fallen into place. Now I still have the protocol to go through (apply and interview), but this position was created just for me. I’m so excited! It’s a 12 month position, so it’s definitely going to be very interesting not having my summers off anymore. I’ve been in education for 15 years, and it’s really hard to remember what working life was like before this. The cool part is that at least we only work 4 days a week in the summer, so it’s not so bad. I still have no idea what the pay rate is for this promotion, and honestly, I don’t care. 🙂 I will no longer be teaching. Instead, I will be training teachers, designing and writing curriculum, and promoting our online learning department. AWESOME! Yeah I’m a little bit (read: a LOT) excited.
On top of that, we signed the contract and deposited the escrow check for our new house. We have the inspection Friday afternoon, and so far, everything is going really smoothly (definitely knocking on wood right now). We also found a fantastic tile person to install tile throughout the entire house at a great price! They are even giving us a really cool tile medallion piece for our entryway for FREE! This house is going to be so pretty when we get done with it!
I just got a my grade back from my first paper in my LAST class, and it was a perfect score!! Just 2 more papers and 5 weeks to go, and I will be ABD (All But Dissertation)!!! Also, my proposal has been accepted, so I am officially a doctoral candidate!!! It’s looking like everything will be all done by March 1st and ready for me to walk in the May graduation!!! EEEEEEEEEK!!! I truly can’t believe I’m almost done!
Now I just have to pack for my Vegas trip next week. Yep Vegas. O.M.G! I seriously cannot wait. Yes, I’m going for a conference. Yes, I’m receiving my award for the course I built. And yes, I will be interviewed when I’m out there. But no, I am not working next week, and no, I will not be stressing over anything. I will probably gamble (read: DEFINITELY!), sleep in a little, and stay out LATE. It’s my last week off before starting this new job, and I intend to make the most of it. WAHOO!!
So yeah, life is good, and SWEET NUGGETS I love it when great things happen! Thank you God for giving me this little rainbow. I shall lie under its colors and enjoy it while it lasts.
