As of 3:45 today, I finally get to start my summer. YAY! It has been a long time coming, and I’m very ready. I still haven’t heard anything about my possible promotion; however, my boss has been called to a meeting in the superintendent’s office around lunchtime today. So…here’s hoping.
I finished my next to last class, and I managed to get a perfect score on the last paper to be able to pull out an A! Wahoo!!!! Just one stinkin’ class left, and I will be ABD (all but dissertation). Sweet Jesus!! Speaking of my dissertation…I resubmitted for AQR for the 3rd time about a week ago. I’m anticipating at least another week of waiting before I hear anything. I very much hoping it is approved this time so that I can get my data collected. The data I need just got released from the state early last week, so I’m literally chomping at the bit to get my hands on the results. As long as I get approval for these first 3 chapters, I will only hav 2 chapters left. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel getting brighter now.
In other news, I am now officially registered to attend a conference in Vegas! I will be receiving an award and attending quite a few workshops that I’m very excited about. The best part is that my husband agreed to wait on his reenlistment until after this conference so that he can attend with me. (*fist pump*)
Speaking of the Army, my son signed his national guard contract today. He will basically be in a Special Forces support unit. I’m just glad that both he and his dad are happy. My husband has had to run quite a few errands and do legwork to make this happen for him, so I’m glad he has actually followed through. So, it looks like I’m an Army Wife AND an Army Mom (weird…I’m too young for that!!).
Speaking of sons…we are about 36 hours away from an interesting conversation with my stepson. He is supposed to be coming to live with us for high school. However, with my husband (his dad) reenlisting, it may impact that decision. In addition, he sort of showed his hand on the phone yesterday. He told his dad that he had received his schedule for next year but “if I stay down there, it will have to change”. Well duh…and what do you mean IF? Long story short, this kid has a bad habit of changing his mind and impacting numerous lives in the process…usually not in a positive way. Other long story short…I don’t care. LOL!
Last but not least, I’ve come to realize that while I don’t blog every day (just not enough hours in the day), I really do enjoy it. Writing is rather cathartic…even if I’m the only one reading it. 🙂
